Art Walk and Small Business Saturday!

Saturday, Nov. 24 is Small Business Saturday, and from 4-7 it's the Magnolia Art Walk as well.

All day:  Cookies for our customers, and a free canvas bag to anyone spending $75.00 or more

4-7 p.m.  We are honored to host Molly Hashimoto, local artist and author.  She has a beautiful new board book--Molly Hashimoto's Birds!; and we'll have copies of her gorgeous Colors of the West: An Artist's Guide to Nature's Palate, as well as her distinctive and wonderful boxed cards, bookplates, coloring books and calendars.  Please come in to visit her and see her work!

Saturday, August 25th, 4 to 7 p.m.

We are very excited to be the first to celebrate the publication of Magnolia resident Judith Dern's new book, The Food and Drink of Seattle:  From Wild Salmon to Craft Beer.  Just released, the book is an in-depth exploration of Seattle's vibrant and delicious culinary history--spanning the Puget Sound's geological origins through its Native American, early settlers, and immigrant influences--to Pike Place Market and today's restaurateurs and contemporary food scene.

Please visit during the Magnolia Art Walk to celebrate the literary and culinary arts!

We are happy to have local author Rachel Linden as our visiting artist for the upcoming Magnolia Art Walk on May 26th.  She is a novelist and international aid worker whose adventures living and traveling in fifty countries around the world provide excellent grist for her stories.  She lives here in Seattle with her husband and two young children, where she "enjoys creating stories about hope and courage with a hint of romance and a touch of whimsey."

Linden's first book, Ascension of Larks, is set in the San Juan Islands; and her most recent novel, Becoming the Talbot Sisters, is set in Budapest, where she lived before moving to Seattle.  They're beautifully written, accessible and engrossing books.  Please help us celebrate the literary arts!  Come in and talk with Rachel and investigate her books for yourself.

The Art Walk runs from 4 to 7 that Saturday evening; and Rachel will be here from 4 to 6.

Join the Party!   Saturday, April 28th is the date this year:  Come celebrate independent bookstores with us!

We're excited to feature Sara Anderson, author and illustrator of many beautiful children's books (including A Day at the Market, one of our favorites!) as our visiting artist for the Magnolia Art Walk on Saturday, February 24th.  We'll have her original art on display for the duration of the Art Walk, and Sara will be here from 4 to 6 to meet visitors and sign many of her gorgeous books.

New Joe DeMarco Thriller!

Mike Lawson's eagerly awaited new Joe Demarco title is here!  House Witness was just released, and we're very pleased to announce that Mike will be here to sign and discuss it on Saturday, February 17th, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Please come!
